Love Nature

The love of nature can heal your soul when ever you feel bored or badly. It is recommended that people who are in blue go to see the beauty of nature, doing so they will reduce their bad feeling to be better than usual. Don't forget if you have anybody in your family with mental problem or stress, send them to see the beautiful nature with fresh air to combat those bad mode in their head.

Steve with his wife Irene from USA

Steve and Irene from USA  came to visit Wat Athvea Temple, saw and spent half another teaching the children, describing and giving some post cards to them. All the pictures are about Colorado's wildlife, mountains and city skyscrapers.

New Shelf for Storing Books and Other Materials

A home-made wooden closet with two shelves inside for storing books, play-tools and other materials. Your could see two pictures drawn by children and were stuck to the doors of the closet. It is really lovely and funnily amazing. We close it with two lockers after used, and make sure that nothing get lost. We have to save everything as possible as we can.

Our Free Classes for Children

One Glance of Our Children Classes
Cambodian Community Assistance Association has started its classes later than the defined date due to flood condition in the area which made difficulty to travelling and insecurity for children so delayed the date was a must. However, after the flood has gone, we could start. The students are very happy to attend our classes; we have also given them some materials for study.

A Huge Thank to Brian Feeny Australian

A Big Thank to Brian

In the meantime, We all would like to extend our thanksgiving to Brian Feeny, Australian, who makes our project possible. We hope all your supports will make a difference to our community and children's lives. As his quote says "From little things, big things grow."

School Preparation

While being cleaned
We were working all morning and until late afternoon to sweep, clean and arrange our school. Our team were working tirelessly to make this school environment nicer and more comfortable than it was before. First when we got into the building, we had to break the lock as there was no key; at the scene it was dark and scary and messy with dust everywhere on all over the floor and spider-nets all over the walls, because it was abandoned for a long time. However after we opened all the windows, we got sunlight then we cleaned it altogether. Everything in this building now looks better and neater. With the assistance of the Head of the Wat Athvea pagoda, we had more long tables and chairs to meet our need. Initially, our classes will be opened very soon after Pchum Ben Festival (the Festival of the Dead). We are all going to be ready for our classes. There are a lot of village children expected to come to learn because we have handed a piece of information announcement about our new center to them and their parents.

What we expect to better our initial running classes is students' supplies, especially students' books that we need to give to our students.

Hopefully you can help us to make this mini-project possible. We will give you any update of our project.

Please see our project just click here  Project Proposal or go below.

We added two white boards.

CCAA's School

The bamboo class with leaking thatch roof.

These are the photos of CCAA's school captured during preparation of our project. It looks very simple, quiet and messy as it was abandoned years ago. We have a lot to do: cleaning, sweeping the rooms and clearing away the useless grass to make the environment nearby more beautiful and attractive to our students. Then we need to move some more tables and chairs from the pagoda stock to equip in this building.

The children in the village are looking forwards to attending this community center which will starts on 7th October, 2013 in the meantime of formal government school restart, and just after Pchum Ben Festival finishes. We hope there will be a lot of children coming to our new classes.

Please help us to make this dream project possible.

The wooden classroom viewed from front door looks better.
The classrooms have been closed  and locked quite long time.
